Commercial Insurance Exchange (CIX) is a New Zealand-based insurance brokerage that specializes in commercial property and body corporate insurance. 1. Can you introduce yourself, and tell us about your team or company?
I'm Nick Robertson and I'm the co-founder and technical director at Commercial Insurance Exchange. Our mission is to make one insurance broker as efficient as 50 traditional brokers through software. We provide insurance services to commercial property managers and owners across New Zealand, and technology is at the core of how we deliver that efficiency.
2. How do you plan to use Rollbar?
Rollbar is our core alerting platform and a critical part of our infrastructure across every environment. We run business-critical scheduled processes throughout the day, so when something goes wrong, we need to know immediately. Rollbar gives us that visibility, helping us quickly identify and respond to issues before they have a broader impact.
3. What made you choose Rollbar?
What stood out about Rollbar was its simplicity and effectiveness. Whenever an error occurs, we receive an alert directly in Slack with all the context we need to begin investigating right away. We evaluated other solutions, including Sentry, which I'd previously used in an enterprise environment. While it offered more features, we didn't need that level of complexity, and the cost didn't make sense for a company at our stage. Rollbar struck the right balance, providing the capabilities we needed at a price point that fit our business.
