When an error appears in production, the hardest part often isn’t seeing what broke. It’s understanding why.
That’s why we built Root Cause Analysis (RCA). It helps connect the dots between an error and its likely cause, so you can spend less time investigating and more time moving forward.
Until now, RCA was only available through plans that included AI credits. Starting today, free plan users can purchase an AI credit subscription and use RCA without changing plans.
If you’re happy on the free plan, you can stay right where you are and add access to RCA when you need it.
How credits work
AI credits give you flexibility in how you use AI-powered features. A typical RCA analysis uses around 500 to 700 credits, depending on the complexity of the issue.
Subscriptions start at 15,000 credits for $5/month, which is enough for roughly 20 to 30 RCA analyses each month.
Most teams don’t need help with every error. RCA is often most useful when you’re dealing with unfamiliar code, regressions, cross-service issues, or the kinds of problems where the stack trace tells you what happened but not what led to it.
Credits let you save AI assistance for the moments when additional insight can make the biggest difference.
This also unlocks what’s coming next
RCA is the first feature powered by AI credits, but it won’t be the last.
We’re building additional AI capabilities on the same credit system, with the goal of helping teams move from detection to understanding more quickly. By adding a credit subscription today, you’ll be ready to use new AI-powered features as they become available, without changing plans or updating your billing setup.
When its time for more than the free plan
Some teams eventually need more events, longer retention, or additional workflow features.
Our paid plans now start at lower prices than before.
- Essentials starts at $9/month (10K events, 90-day retention)
- Advanced starts at $13/month (10K events, 180-day retention, plus Saved Views, Adaptive Alerts, and RQL)
Both include AI credits in the base plan, so no separate subscription needed.
But if you’re happy on free and just want RCA, the credit subscription is the lighter path.
Get started
Log in and purchase a credit subscription from your compare plans settings. Then open any error item and trigger RCA.
Start with the errors that have been sitting in your feed the longest — the ones where the stack trace shows what broke but not why.
